VIDEO UPDATE: Man in hospital with neck wound

A man has been taken to hospital after suffering a neck injury in Storrington this morning (Thursday February 7).

Police are investigating the incident as assault.

It involved a man, believed to be in his 40s, who was walking his dog in the Meadowside area at around 6.30am.

A wooded area has been cordoned off and officers are currently on the scene making door-to-door enquiries.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said crew were called to an address in the area just before 7am.

It is believed the incident took place some time before.

The patient was assessed at the scene and taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton as a priority.
