Pulborough burglary appeal

Police are appealing for a family to come forward who were walking in Nutbourne Lane, Pulborough, on Thursday afternoon (21 February) as they may have witnessed a break-in.

The incident took place at about 3.30pm at a compound near the covered reservoirs. A cabinet was broken into and a quantity of batteries was stolen.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers attending the scene spotted the family but they disappeared before they had a chance to speak to them. There were believed to be five or six people in the group, possibly two adults and the rest children. One of the children was wearing distinctive pink clothing, which may have been a coat.

“We’re anxious to trace the group who may have seen something suspicious at the time. We have also released a CCTV image in the hope that someone may be able to help.

“If anyone can assist police with their enquiries then we would ask them to call police on 101 quoting serial 0882 of 21 February. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
