Police are dealingwith dog attacks

In once incident a dog was attacked and killed by another dog at Fairlight, while officers are investigating another incident in Rye

On Sunday 2 December at around 3.45pm a miniature poodle puppy was attacked and killed by another dog in the picnic area of Fairlight Country Park

The poodle was on a lead and was approached by a dog described as possibly being a white boxer cross Staffie which wasn’t on a lead. The dog sniffed the puppy and then attacked it, grabbing it and throwing it around. The puppy was rushed to the vet but sadly died from its injuries.

Witnesses have said the boxer cross dog was being walked by a man who was aged in his 60s, with greying hair and was clean shaven. He drove off in a dark blue hatchback car.

Police are also appealing for information after a dog attacked another dog at Springfield Drive, Rye, at 8.50am on Friday December 7.

a Jack Russell dog was attacked by another dog, which was not on a lead and described as a brown and black medium to large sized dog, thought to be of Airedale breed. The Jack Russell sustained cuts and bruises.

The offending dog’s owner did manage to pull his dog away but only after the Jack Russell’s owner had sustained minor injuries intervening and shouting at him to control his dog.

PC Paul Fielder said: “I’d like to appeal for the owner of the attacking dog, which we believe could be an Airedale, to come forward to discuss this incident”.
