November 27:

Nathan Jewels, 50, of Foxglove Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Land Rover Discovery on Foxglove Road, on April 28, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 98 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. 
He was fined £240 and banned from driving for 23 months.

Asghar Ali, 42, of High Street, Polegate, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen vehicle on Little Common Road, Bexhill, on April 13, while disqualified from driving. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance, and to wilfully obstructing a police officer at Little Common Road on the same date. He pleaded guilty to two charges of speeding on the A259, Marina, at Hastings, on April 27 and April 28. 
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months. 
Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was ‘a blatant disregard of a court order’. The court made a community order with a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 18 months.

Mahamoud Mahamoud, 34, of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes vehicle on De La Warr Road, Bexhill, on April 11, with cannabis in his bloodstream. He was fined £80 and banned from driving for one year.

December 4:

Harold Mersh, 74, of Eastbourne Road, Willingdon, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW on Langney Roundabout, Eastbourne, on April 23, without due care and attention. He was ordered to pay £150 in compensation and his driving record was endorsed with five penalty points.

December 8:

Rhiannon Ostler, 28, of Balmoral Mews, Polegate, was found guilty of two charges of assault by beating. The offences took place at Polegate on July 28.The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work. She was ordered to pay £100 in compensation and £450 in prosecution costs. 
Magistrates issued a restraining order.
