Country Showwill aid hospice

Thousands are set to attend Rye Country Fair on Saturday August 15.

The event will be raising funds for St Michael’s Hospice.

The ever popular Fair is returning to Lea Barn Farm, Rye Foreign, where it has been held since moving from Salts Farm, East Guldeford.

The Dog Show will once again be taking place from 10.30am. Bring your prized pooch along to take part in a variety of classes, including Dress to Impress, Junior Handler and Wonderfully Scruffy. Entries are taken on the day at only £2 per class.

There is also an exciting, new scurry for gundogs of all levels, with a fantastic pet portrait donated for the open winner, by Kay Prior (www.pettpaintings.com).

There will be displays by TRC gundog display team, the mesmerising Coakham Bloodhounds and much more.

In addition to the Dog Show, there will also be a Horse Show at 8am, which invites riders to participate in classes such as Horse and Hound, Fancy Dress and Open Working Hunter.

This year’s Horse Show sees some extra eight classes added, with the aim of something to suit everyone.

Ever dreamt of riding at Hickstead? Well now you can as 20 of the classes are qualifiers for The Sunshine Tour Championships at the All England Showground, Hickstead.

Class entry prices vary, entries are taken on the day. space permitting, and there will be winning rosettes for all classes placed

Spectators are welcome, and throughout the day (10am-4pm) there will also be entertainment, stalls and a wide variety of food options.

With a Classic Car Show, a display by 1066 Falconry, Pimms Bar and Grand Raffle this promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family.
