Costume Museum to open earlier this year

BECAUSE of the closure of Bexhill Museum while the extension and renovation project is carried out, the Society of Bexhill Museums has brought forward the seasonal opening of the Costume Museum in Old Town.

The museum in Manor Gardens will be open for visitors from Monday,February 18, from 10.30am to 5pm on weekdays and from 2pm to 5pm at weekends.

Entrance fees will be 2 for adults, 50p for students with free admission for children under 12 accompanied by an adult.

Arrangements are being made to display a variety of exhibits from both museums, together with the staging of any temporary exhibitions.

The society says the younger generation has not been forgotten. There will be a number of children's activities, including the ever-popular I-Spy quiz

Ideal for that half-term break.

In the entrance gallery, visitors will be able to inspect a model of the new, extended Bexhill Museum,, which is due to open in early 2009.

The Society of Bexhill Museums said in a statement this week that it wished to thank everyone for their patience and understanding in this very exciting and progressive period for the town.
