Club's new minibus

UCKFIELD Lions Club was delighted to take delivery of a new minibus a brand new VW 13 seater, equipped with a tail lift and capable of carrying four wheelchairs.

The purchase was made possible by a generous offer of 71% of the cost from the Countryside Agency. The Lions managed to raise the balance from club funds.

The deteriorating state of the previous minibus had been causing the Lions some concern. 'We have operated a community minibus for about thirty years,' explained Lion Mike Evans. 'There was a possibility we could lose the minibus due to the high cost of such a specialised vehicle, but this led to cries of dismay from many of the current users.'

Organisations who wish to hire the new bus should contact Lion Chris Macve on 01825 765091.
