Club's dramatic year of success

The club had organised 12 various theatre outings, booking 690 seats, in the year to the end of March.

It had also hosted five club nights at the Riverside Caravan Centre in Shripney Road, with an average attendance of 95, and four other events, which each attracted an average of 60 people.

The club finished the year with a profit of 267.

However, the meeting at the Riverside was tinged with sadness as the passing of two committee members '“ chairman Joan Lance and Dorothy Whittington '“ was remembered. Despite these losses, the future prospects for the club are positive.

Its membership stands at 306, of whom 56 were present at the meeting in the Riverside's Rainbow Room with 15 apologies received.
