Claremont is topof class in tables

Claremont Senior School in Bodiam has been ranked first amongst all local secondary schools in the Rother District area and third overall in East Sussex in the GCSE tables.

The school was founded in September 2011 and the results, celebrated last August, were achieved by the first ever cohort of students that the school has taken through GCSE’s.

79% of all students achieved five, or more, A*’s to C grade, including English and Maths. A highly impressive 49% of the school’s students achieved the EBAC which means they achieved an A* to C grade in English, Maths, Science, a Modern Foreign Language and Humanity subject. This statistic ranks Claremont as second in the whole of East Sussex.

Since the school opened its doors in 2011, Claremont has transformed the site of the old Bodiam Manor Prep School, through various renovation and building works, including a new Sports Hall; Sixth Form Centre; Photography Centre; additional laboratories and a fantastic 220 seat theatre.

Mr Perrin says that next year the school’s roll will top 200.
