Builders stop short of shirts off their backs

RESIDENTS in Arundel are being encouraged to have a clearout in aid of Cancer Research UK.

And the men of Building & Damage Control Ltd answered the call by donating many sacks of used clothing to the Arundel Cancer Research UK shop.

Sue Clark, assistant manager of the shop in High Street, Arundel, said: "Whether it's an impulse buy or something that has never been worn, a toy or a game that the kids have grown out of, or an unwanted gift that is still sitting in the box, we would love to get our hands on it.

"That is what the clearout for cancer is all about, encouraging people to part with their unused, unloved or unwanted items for a really good cause."

She said a typical bag of good clothing and homewares could be worth as much as 30.

Sue said: "That is money we can spend on finding new ways of preventing, treating and curing cancer.

"Imagine what we could do if everyone made a contribution."

Donations can be dropped off at the shop in Arundel from 9am to 5pm. The Clearout for Cancer campaign runs from February 19 to March 19.
