"The St Modwen proposals are still at an early stage and we've put a series of questions to the company and Arun District Council.

"We believe being critically constructive is the best way to be effective."

BRighter Bognor has been welcomed on to consultative groups by West Sussex and Arun councils and the University of Chichester.

BRighter Bognor secretary Jean Coles said: "It's really important that, as proposals reach implementation stage, people who support regeneration engage in discussions.

"For example, from our initial conversations with the university, we can see huge benefits to the community, local businesses and commerce.

"Their plans for new sports amenities, new courses, a new multi-zoned library and a community arts centre '“ all on the Bognor campus and available year round, offer tremendous opportunities to the town.

"We need to see the whole picture for the town because each part of the masterplan needs to fit together for the most effective outcome."

A recent meeting was held between BRighter Bognor and Arun's representatives where the progress about the current regeneration proposals was discussed.
