Brewery grasps eco nettle

THE Adur Brewery is hoping to convert a nettle-covered wasteland into a garden with a water feature.

The garden will be just outside the brewery's permanent home in Mouse Lane, Steyning.

Director and brewer Andy Dwelly said: "The brewery has to get rid of excess yeast, spent grain and boiled hops.

"We also have to dispose of amounts of clean water that was used for cooling.

"The answer to all of these problems is to create a garden using 'permaculture' principles in order to minimise the day-to-day effort in maintaining it."
