Friday 7 February at the Village Hall Brede’s weekly Farmers Market opens at 10am – 12 noon. Any visitors in the area will be surprised at the diversity of the goods on offer. Saturday 8 February Gary Marriott, Duncan Reid, Robert and Leonie Wheeler present and Epicurean Evening which is a Poetry and Prose evening. This will take place in Udimore Community Hall 7.15pm for 7.30pm start. Go along with your favourite poem or piece of prose to read or simply go and listen to others, Previous events have generated a fascinating mixture of contributions- hilarious, moving and whimsical not to mention outrageous! A delicious hot meal and pudding will be served. The evening will cost £12.50 per person. It is recommended to book. Sunday 9 February sung Eucharist at 9.30am in St George’s Church Brede. The local preacher taking the Methodist service is The Reverend Peter Timms and begins at 10.30am.

Monday 10 February Pilates in Udimore Hall at 9.30am. Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club begins at 10.30am. Do not forget if you want to join them after lunch you can. The contact number is 07850 987120 for more information.

The Whist Players meet in the Village Hall, main Hall at 7.30pm. Rainbows In the small Hall at 4.00pm followed at 5.30pm by the Brownies.

In the Scout Hut Beavers begin at 5.30pm to 6.30pm this is for 6 – 8 year olds and from 6.30 – 8.00pm Cubs which is for 8 - 10½ year olds. To book the Scout Hut Contact Rhiannon Oliver 01424 882037 It is ideal for meetings, children’s parties and anniversaries. It also has grounds big enough for a marquee. So if you are planning your wedding you may want to consider this as an option.

Tuesday 11 February the Painting for Pleasure group meet at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall. The Mobile Library will be visiting Oakhill Drive at 3.00 – 3.40pm and Reedswood Road 3.50 – 4.15pm

Wednesday 12 February Brede WI meet at 2.30pm in Brede Village Hall. The topic this afternoon is ‘finding your voice’ the speakers are Maggie Sandra and Janet Romani. Yoga is in Udimore Parish Hall at 7pm.

Thursday 13 February Stretch and Tone with Sally at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall. This includes a bit of yoga, Pilates, and dance. It is good for every age group; so if you are still carrying that Christmas weight give it a go. The Mobile Library will be in the car park at the Village Hall 1.25 – 1.55pm. Brede Friendly Circle meet at 7.30pm their speaker Lisa Hooper is presenting ‘The Bowen Technique’ a complement to the NHS treatment. All ladies welcome.

Friday 14 February Happy Valentines Day to you all! Brede Farmers Market will be open from 10am to midday and the traders look forward to seeing you.

Short Mat Bowls is at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall.

Future Events:

Saturday 1 March at 7.30pm the trinity Methodist Church in Udimore Road Broad Oak will be hosting a musical evening, with Peasmarsh and District WI Choir. Refreshments will be served in the interval, as it is St David’s Day they plan to serve Leek soup. Entrance is free but there will be a retiring collection for refurbishment funds.
