BREAKING NEWS: Woman airflifted to hospital after being hit by car in Goring

A PEDESTRIAN has been hit by a car near the Toby Carvery pub in Goring Road, Goring.

Police are currently at the scene and have closed off the area around George V Avenue and Rose Walk.

The woman who is in her eighties has been airlifted to King's College Hospital in London.

A police spokeswoman said the woman, who was hit by a blue Vauxhall Astra saloon shortly before 1.55pm today (Tuesday, December 22), has a suspected serious head injury.

The woman's family have been informed.

The road re-opened at 4pm, however, police are still at the scene.

The car driver was unhurt.

Police are appealing for witnesses and ask anyone who saw the collision to contact them on 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Hasfield.
