Bognor widower fell down stairs

A WIDOWER died after falling down the stairs at his home in Bognor Regis, an inquest heard.

Harold Langridge (78), of Milton Road, died in St Richard's Hospital on March 26 after being admitted following a fall the previous night.

Chichester County Court heard the retired clerical worker had started suffering falls after his health began to deteriorate following the death of his wife two years previously.

Coroner's officer Christopher Clinch said Mr Langridge was found at the bottom of his stairs with blood coming out of one of his ears by his brother.

A post mortem revealed he died as a result of a head injury suffered in the fall.

Assistant Deputy Coroner for West Sussex Martin Milward recorded a verdict of accidental death.
