Bognor tunes up for Music on Prom

Music on the prom gets underway this Sunday with the first of a series of concerts at the Bognor Regis seafront bandstand.

Chichester City Band will perform the opening concert at 3pm. The band, which has about 30 members, was formed in 1897 by Robert Bottrill, who owned a coal business in Chichester and Bognor Regis.

Further concerts will take place at the same time on the following Sundays in a summer programme of music organised by Bognor Regis Town Council.

The ongoing restoration work in Hotham Park means the bandstand there cannot be used this summer to see the musical action switch to the seafront.
