Bodiam

It was good to have the recycling calendar for 2013 and the Christmas arrangements are December 24, normal, and December 31st collection will be the January 2. That is how I see it, but for more information phone 01424 787000.

Perhaps after Christmas Bodiam would like to take part in the Health Walks every Tuesday morning from Bodiam Castle car park. Start at 10am. For more information phone Paula Hubens, Health Walks Project Officer, 07740899559.

After all the Christmas services the next one is on January 20 and will be Holy Communion at 11.15am in St Giles and the vicar of Bodiam will take the service with Lay Reader Jenny.

I do feel it is time the National Trust at Bodiam Castle had a letter from the government to say thank you for all the employment it has made at the castle, and by the time you read this George Baily, the number one, will have taken all the staff to for a free meal. I will start at the castle, just for the free meal.

Not so many people turned up for the last Levett’s Lane Residents Association Community Christmas Dinner with a lot of hot food for everyone to enjoy and it was free. All proceeds from the raffle will go towards the memorial Bench fun. The Association’s next meeting is on January 28 in the Parish Room at 7.30pm.

The Bodiam pre-school made £100 at the Bodiam Castle Inn bonfire night for the Penny for the Guy.

It looks like I will have to have Christmas with the family, I am told Christmas Day about 12 people will sit around the table but I can look to the William Hill George VI Chase on Boxing Day to be happy (nut some people do not have a family and that is sad) I do hope the people of Bodiam who are not in the best of health have a good Christmas. Someone said to me if only you could push a button to make them feel better but to all of Bodiam have a great Christmas and may 2013 turn out to be more prosperous and happy new year for everyone.
