BLODS treasurer found dead at Beachy Head

A PROMINENT member of Bexhill Light Operatic and Dramatic Society (BLODS) was found dead at the foot of Beachy Head on December 14.

The body of Clive Roberts, 40, was recovered by Eastbourne's Coastguard cliff rescue team at first light.

Police were alerted to the incident on Saturday night when a car was found at the clifftop, near Eastbourne, with a note inside.

Stuart Hardy, who performed with him in Half a Six Pence, said: "It's a terrible shame. He was a good mate on stage and a nice man '” always very reliable to work with."

Mr Roberts was the society's treasurer

An inquest into Mr Roberts' death has been opened and adjourned. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
