Bexhill town hall turned into children's play area

Hundreds of toddlers and children took part in activities at Bexhill's town hall as it was turned into a family fun area on Monday.

Rother District Council opened its doors for families to discover the services available to them by meeting Rother staff and their partner organisations.

The free event, which tied in with the half-term holiday, included a 'dinosaur fossil find', face painting, music, various games, plus arts and crafts for children.

Youngsters even got the chance to have their picture taken in the chairman's seat in the council chamber.

They also had the opportunity to stroke and pet animals outside in a special marquee outside the town hall, as well as sit in a fire engine.

Mums and dads had the opportunity to learn more about the many services families can use within Rother and ask questions.

Rother council leader Carl Maynard said: "It was great to see so many young people enjoying a variety of activities within the town hall."
