Battle area recycling efforts beyond expectation
Collecting points are at Battle Post Office and Knick-Knicks, in Old Ladies Court, Battle; as well as several volunteer groups making local collections in nearby villages.
The objective is to collect clean unwanted bras that can be shipped to Africa.

Hide AdOver the year, 40 large bags of bras have been sent on their way and they will be re-used in less well off communities.
The scheme also makes a small financial contribution to Breast Cancer Research and local cycling projects.
Sue Burton, Battle Waste and Recycling Group, said: “The response has been fantastic; many local businesses and groups have become involved and spread the word.
To have collected 40 sacks in a year, since launched, is beyond our expectation and so generous of many local people.”

Hide AdBattle Waste and Recycling Group thank all those who have donated their unwanted bras, told others about the scheme, or collected from friends and work colleagues.
They say it is a great way to reuse what is not needed anymore in our community and hope that local residents will continue to support the scheme by taking unwanted bras to the collection points.
