Bat walks to start at Arundel Wetland Centre

Visitors to the Arundel Wetland Centre will be able to watch bats under the cover of darkness thanks to new equipment.

The night-vision equipment will be on trial from the centre’s corporate partner Viewpoint Optics at the monthly bat walks.

Neil Phillipson from Viewpoint Optics said: “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to add an extra dimension to this already enlightening experience with these mysterious creatures.

The bat walks start with a visit to the reed bed hide to watch the tiny pipistrelle bats emerge from their roosts at dusk.

Bat walks at the centre start on May 12. The walk costs £12 and must be pre-booked by calling 01903 881530.
