Funds raised will go towards buying a nightbus for use by the thousands of young clubbers who go into the town each week.

The safe-clubbing group tried in vain last year to gain council funding for the bus, part of their overall bid for safety initiatives for young clubbers such as help-points and safer railway crossings.

The campaign was started in memory of Hayley Owen, who died ar a Chichester railway crossing just before Christmas 2004. The Battle of the Bands competition has been organised by Cravintunes Entertainment, run by 23-year-old Paul McDonald, who lost an arm in a railway accident when he was 15-years old.

Doors open at 5pm on Wednesday, November 8. Tickets cost 4 in advance, 5 on the door, and are available from Guitartech, Clifton Road, or Musicmania, Crescent Road.
