Amazing escape as ground gives way
THIS was the dramatic scene in Worthing on Thursday when a lorry fitted with a concrete pump almost toppled over.
The ground gave way under the vehicle's right rear support leg in Crescent Road at around 11am.
Pump operator Jamie Fox said: "That leg has gone two metres down in the ground and that's what caused it. All the weight's on that back leg. I'm just glad everyone is ok."
Workers were pumping concrete slabs at the site when the lorry began to rise up. No one was in the cab at the time.
