Adele - moving to Horsham district?

A friend of the English singer-songwriter has told Heat magazine that Adele has been house-hunting in Billingshurst to be closer to her boyfriend who works in Brighton.

The ‘Someone Like You’ singer sold more than 16 million copies of her second album ‘21’, making it the biggest selling album of the century.

Last month she and her boyfriend Simon Konecki went public and had their first date at The Ginger Fox pub in Hassocks.

Many fans on Twitter hope her relocation is more than just a rumour.

@misspallen said: “Hope Adele really is moving to Billingshurst - she’d be a few miles down the road from me!”

And @annieembiricos wrote: “Adele is moving to Billingshurst, where my grandparents live. Guess I might be visiting them a bit more often than usual now.”

The County Times contacted the star’s management to confirm the move but they declined to comment.

However, it is believed the singer has been prospecting properties in the area for a number of months.

Other famous local residents to the Billingshurst area include Harry Potter actress Julie Walters, Alvin Stardust, New Tricks and Grandpa in My Pocket actor James Bolam and his wife Sue Jameson, as well as former glamour model Katie Price, and of course MP Francis Maude, both of whom live near Dial Post.
