Becky Brooke from the group said: “As the weather for the next few weeks is looking unsettled we thought best to re-arrange for a few weeks time, so we will be doing the event instead on Sunday, March 8, between 1pm and 3pm.”

The group will meet at 1pm on March 8 on the promenade by the beach huts opposite The Waverely pub, and everyone is invited to join in.

The Beach Clean Brigade’s aim is to remove any rubbish from the beach, leaving behind any natural marine debris – such as shells, seaweed, feathers, driftwood and so on – as these are part of the natural ecosystem of the beach.

They will then meet back at the beach huts at midday where a prize will be awarded for the most alien object found during the beach clean up.
