East Sussex County Council has said ‘there is just too much uncertainty’ at the moment and subsequently ‘all work experience for the rest of the academic has been cancelled’.

An ESCC spokesperson said, “We are unclear if/when the schools will re-open, what the priorities will be for students at that time and whether work experience placements will still be possible given the challenging situation.

“This decision has not been made lightly, but we hope you will agree this is the best option going forward, it enables us to give a clear message now to all concerned about work experience for this academic year.”

ESCC said they look forward to ‘hopefully’ working with the schools and pupils again in the next academic year 2020-21.
