The Fishermen’s Mission is the fishermen’s charity and Daniel Huff heads up the branch in Eastbourne.

Daniel said, “The Fishermen’s Mission was set up in 1881 to help fishermen and their families weather the storms of life. Nothing has changed. The coronavirus has hit the UK fishing industry hard and the Eastbourne Fishermen’s Mission are keen to say that no fisherman or fisherman’s family need struggle alone.

“We are still here to help you. if you are a fisherman on a UK boat; a retired fisherman; or a member of a fisherman’s family please do not hesitate to contact us. These are very difficult times and the support we can give you may make all the difference. We will always be there to help and may be able to offer further financial support and access grants for you. Together, we can get through this crisis.”

As the effects of the coronavirus are felt both in the short and the long term, the Eastbourne Fishermen’s Mission says it is ideally placed to help with expert knowledge of what’s happening locally and nationally and how to get the best support available.

Daniel said, “The Fishermen’s Mission can help you if you feel like you are struggling with money worries or feeling isolated and alone. We are here to support you and we are ready to listen. We know that times are tough for fishermen and their families at the moment so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. If you need us please call us.”
