Storrington supermarket makes sweet donation to village community hub

A trolley load of Easter eggs has been donated the Storrington community volunteer hub.

Village resident Gilly Myers said she first contacted Waitrose Storrington to purchase 50 eggs after Easter to donate to those in need.

But she said the store manager offered to give the eggs free of charge instead.

Gilly added: “It’s lovely. We all want to do things to help. We’re all doing our bit one way or another.”

She said she contacted the hub to make the donation which will be used in food parcels for those in need.

Gilly added that her husband Jeff had worn his social distancing outfit while the eggs were collected.
