Horsham housing association reveals new chair of board
A Horsham based housing association has revealed its new chair of the board.
Saxon Weald appointed Simon Hardwick from 1 March following the retirement of the previous chair, Simon Turpitt, whose maximum time as a board member came to an end.
Simon is a lawyer by profession, specialising in commercial property, development and construction. He was a partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers until his retirement in 2015. Since then, he has held non-executive Chair and Director roles, primarily in the property and construction sectors.
Simon said: “I am delighted to join Saxon Weald and am really looking forward to helping the team build on their existing achievements.
“There are many challenges facing the whole housing sector, but I am very confident that Saxon Weald is well placed to respond. We will continue to work hard together to deliver great homes, provide excellent customer service and support our local communities.”
Simon lives on the Hertfordshire/Essex border and is a keen equestrian; he was a selector for the London 2012 Olympic British Dressage team and has been awarded the British Dressage Medal of Honour for services to equestrian sport.
Steven Dennis, Chief Executive of Saxon Weald, addedd: “It’s great to have Simon on board and I’m looking forward to working with him to build on Saxon Weald’s achievements. I must, however, say a huge thank you to Simon Turpitt for his dedication over the past nine years. He has been an absolute pleasure to work with and his support has been invaluable.”
