Bristol-based bluesy-folk musician Lori is enroute to the Smugglers Festival in Kent but will perform on September 4 at the Ostrich, in Robertsbridge, at Meet of the Tongue.

This is a monthly spoken word music storytelling event for both local performers and visiting guests, hosted by Hilary Watkins.

On Friday the Meet of the Tongue audience can enjoy Lori in a performance where she will weave her versatile voice, her stories and her guitar pickings into what feels like a relaxed conversation. In the summer of 2014 Lori released her Debut EP Seeds and she arrives at Robertsbridge fresh from playing the UK summer festivals including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Larmertree, Shambala and the Green Man where her sensitive, comedic and lilting songs received great reviews.

Lori kicks off Meet of the Tongue’s autumn program of young artists. On Friday October 2 the event hosts 19 year old spoken word artist, Tommy Sissons, who is already taking his gutsy spoken word poetry onto BBC TV and radio. If you are a performer, you can bring acoustic music, tales or poetry and perform alongside Lori or Tommy and Meet of the Tongue ‘regulars’. £4/£5, Under 18 Free. Pay on the door. Doors open 7.30.
