Rye festival’s intimate venue for live music

The 2015 Rye International Jazz & Blues Festival will host a dizzying array of talent at the Spectrum Jazz Lounge.

Imagine the coolest club, candlelit tables and world-class music acts live in an intimate setting - performances take place at lunchtime, afternoon and evenings followed by late-at-the-Lounge sessions through to 2am.

Concerts include multi-talented singer songwriter and pianist Theo Jackson on Thursday August 27. The next day is billed as Funky Friday as Hard Lines play their unique blend of Jazz Funk, followed by Gwyneth Herbert.

American diva Avery Sunshine headlines on Saturday August 29 with a dynamic and rich blend of soul, RnB and gospel, then the Shez Raja Collective, a heady brew of bass-driven funky jazz and world fusion.

Cuban band Son Yambu perform in the afternoon on Sunday August 30 followed by jazz singer Ian Shaw and his Trio at 8pm. Late at the lounge features the Neil Angilley Trio through to the wee small hours with outstanding Latin and Jazz original music.

On Monday August 31 the Spectrum Jazz Lounge completes with performances from Emily Saunders and the Latin Mix, the wonderfully talented and acclaimed jazz singer Liane Carroll. To end the festival on a real party night high, the Dirty Martini Swing Band and guest saxophonist Derek Nash from the Jools Holland big Band will play great swing jazz and grooves with smooth vocals.
