ROTARIANS are never deterred. The Show must go on.

With a cloudy sky early morning and all manpower at the ready Rotary Club of Senlac members and their teams of helpers welcomed 300 Classic Cars into Bodiam Recreation Ground to herald the planned event (pictured, right).

Parking marshalled by the ATC ensured all allocated arena space was used. Trade stalls, charity stalls, falconry display of both small and large birds of prey was a prime attraction. Bands - Sussex Brass, Jazz Caverners and Old Star Morris Dance Team - were all scheduled to appear in an entertainment programme.

The delights of fresh food and liquid refreshment were in plentiful supply provided by the hard-working Rotarians ladies.

Alas! The rains came but would not go away! The Show closed in the early afternoon. Because of the determination and enthusiasm shown throughout the morning, after all accountable expenses proceeds the event realised 3,361 which will be allocated to local charitable causes, in particular Demelza James Children's Hospice at Home Service, Friary Gardeners and Torfield School.

With an international motto Service Above Self we further salute our Marich, Kenya Team who will soon be leaving for Kenya to carry on the work of completing building a health clinic '“ The John Cocker Unit.

Fun and fellowship, helping others and working within the community are aims and objectives which witness many, many happy days. To all visitors to our show, thank you for supporting our endeavours! Please visit us again in 2009.
