Little Common Photographic Club

UNFORTUNATELY, the planned summer outing to Lewes in early July had to be cancelled due to several members being unavailable on the day, plus an unsettled weather forecast.

However, 16 members and guests met again just last weekend on Bank Holiday Sunday for the annual garden party, this year enjoying the kind hospitality of Gwyneth and Basil Ludkin - despite not very typical summer weather! but the sun eventually appeared and everyone enjoyed an afternoon with a quiz, outdoor games; convivial conversation and delicious food.

During a 15 week summer break of very varied weather, hopefully members have still had some opportunities for outings and holidays to take photographs for the new season's competitions, especially as "Weather" is the set subject for slides and with "Action" for prints.

The 2008/09 season starts on Monday, September 1 with a friendly fun knock-out competition evening where everyone brings along a selection of slides; small prints (max. 7" x 5 ") and larger prints to be judged by the members themselves - entry is up to a maximum of four in each section.

This first evening will also be an "open evening" to welcome any new prospective members who, it is hoped, will enter into what is just a fun competition. So if you enjoy taking photos - either prints or slides and like showing them to other people - why not come along to this friendly evening to see if you would like to join.

Meetings for the Little Common Photographic Club are held fortnightly on Mondays in the Main Hall at the Community Centre in Shepherds Close, Little Common starting at 7.45 pm. For further details - contact either John Pergande/chairman on 846333 or Sue Clarke/publicity on 224979.
