Glenn’s final tour

“I’m coming back to perform in the UK, where I have had the pleasure of touring regularly over the past 40 years, for my final tour there.

“I’m thrilled to be returning. The audiences were wonderful on my previous tours, and I always felt right at home. They always make me feel appreciated.”

Glen was recently diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. It affects his short term memory. Glen is still able to sing, play and perform in the same professional manner that he always has, his promoters stress.

Spokesman Kevin Wilson said: “The couple have decided to go public with Glen’s diagnosis because of his final slate of live performances this fall in the UK - and they want his

fans to be aware of the musician’s condition.

“Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer,” says his wife Kim. “But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn’t want people to think ‘What’s the matter with him? Is he drunk?’ “

The Grammy-winner, whose Rhinestone Cowboy topped the charts in 1975, had been suffering from short-term memory loss for years, but the Alzheimer’s diagnosis only came six months ago.

“I still love making music,” says Glen. “And I still love performing for my fans. I’d like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin.”

Glen Campbell: The Goodbye Tour will see Glen supported by his two daughters and his son’s band, performing many of his greatest hits including Gentle On My Mind, By The Time I Get To Phoenix, Wichita Lineman, Galveston, Rhinestone Cowboy, Southern Nights and songs from his new recording, his final studio album, Ghost On The Canvas, which was released in the UK on Monday, August 29 by Surfdog Records.
