From darkness into light

Dark-night winter,Driving rain and north-east gale,Dormant flowers beneath the soil,Dormant buds along the boughAll await the sun-warm dawn,Morning dew and midday breeze.

See the paschal flames alight,

Sun-bright primrose, daffodil

Cheer the view across the weald,

Lambs are frisking in the field,

Blackbirds sing in leafy trees.

Rejoice

The day of Resurrection has found its voice

Exult

The tomb no longer holds dark-night

Arise

Go forth

From winter gloom to springtime light!
