As spokeswoman Glenda Harkess-Cowlyn explains: “Freedom Zoom Records has only been going for a year and focuses on the Motown ethic of all artists working as a family to nurture and create new writing that has longevity.

“The album features a host of well-known Christmas songs that have been given a new touch by local musicians and bands and solo artists.

“As part of their commitment to the local music community, Freedom Zoom have featured local artists on the album other than just the ones they represent. Their community ethos is dedicated to promoting local music talent and producing a fun festive album that offers artists an opportunity they wouldn’t otherwise get, which enables Freedom Zoom to contribute to, and support, their local community.”

Peter Rozario, CEO at Freedom Zoom, said: “The response from local artists on contributions for this album has been fantastic, in what was very short time scale to produce and release the album. We were really impressed by the broad talent that exists within our community and we will continue to encourage, support and promote them where we can.

“With this compilation, the artists have taken well-known classics and made them their own, by adding their own flavours and not losing the spirit of Christmas. I love it, and I think every household should have one on play at this moment”

“Well-known classics are featured on the album, such as Santa Baby by Beverley Seal (Worthing) Winter Wonderland by The Gent and Lucky Vamp (both Worthing), Silent Night by Ella Feld (Bognor) and White Christmas by Owen Vyse.

“The album also introduces some new songs too, Tubba 3 Ply’s track Jungle Bells mixes drum and bass and hip hop with beautiful harmonies and The Beautiful Word’s new track Mirrorball is totally captivating.”

The album is available on Bandcamp and iTunes. If you buy it on Bandcamp, you’ll get a free secret track.
