With Terry Dodd out long-term injured and Liam MacDevitt leaving the club last week, the Hornets are trying to sign an additional forward.

Manager Dominic Di Paola has been pleased with Ollie Gill and Tiago Andrade playing in advanced roles, but believes they would be in a much stronger position if they had a recognised goal-getter.

Horsham have managed to score in every single Ryman League South Division game this year, but Di Paola is hoping to have added to his ranks by next week.

He said: “I am still looking to bring someone in in the frontline really, although Darren Boswell coming back from injury does help.

“We are always on the look-out and I talk to a lot of other managers from higher up the leagues, but it’s very rare good forwards that will make a difference will come and do well.

“It’s rare you find someone like that on a loan, so I think we will have to sign someone. Realistically we need one striker in from somewhere and I might have some news on that next week.

“Tiago needs to get a bit fitter as he has come from county level and it is a bit of a jump, but he has done well since he has come in.

“Ollie Gill is doing quite well, he is a bit up and down, but that’s experience as he has only played five or six games at this level.”

Horsham travel to Walton Casuals on Saturday and then face a return trip to Hastings United - a side they drew 1-1 on Saturday in a rearranged fixture - on Tuesday night.
