Shell-shocked Horsham boss Dominic Di Paola wants to put Tuesday night’s drubbing against top of the table Dorking Wanderers behind them as they take on two more highly-rated sides this week.

Hornets currently lie 12th in the table and will be visiting Corinthian Casuals on Saturday, followed on Wednesday night by a trip to Cray Wanderers, who are eighth and seventh respectively.

Corinthian Casuals showed their ability by narrowly losing just 1-0 away to Dorking Wanderers on Saturday, followed by a 3-0 defeat on Tuesday against Egham Town in the Sussrey County Cup.

Cray Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat on Sunday at the hands of Horsham’s Sussex rivals Worthing in the FA Trophy.

Di Paola said: “We will be playing two really strong teams who are both challenging for the play-offs.

“Both these games are going to be tough but hopefully the boys will have the same amount of pride as me and try and win again.”

But despite looking ahead, Di Paola was still smarting from their poor showing against Dorking.

He said: “The way we performed, we could have played in any formation, using any tactics and we’d have lost.

“We asked them to do things but we were really off the pace. We should have had a penalty, but that’s by the by.”

Horsham are expected to be without latest injury victims Tony Nwachukwu and Alex Duncan, who both came off the field early against Chatham on Saturday, suffering from a hamstring strain and a gashed leg respectively..

Di Paola said: “We will be going to training tonight (Wednesday) and will take it from there. I do not yet know who we could be expecting back, we will have to see.”
