The Magpies extended their unbeaten run to six matches and climbed up to eighth in the Premier Division with a 5-2 victory albeit with a few scares from their visitors.

They initially went 1-0 behind, before braces from Toby House and Sam Beard and a Tom Summerfield goal put Loxwood firmly in control in between a Hailsham second.

Camp said: “I think they have improved on what their season looks like. I don’t know if they have got new players in, but they were dangerous on the break.

“Sam Divall was a threat and we had to be respectful of their movement up and down the pitch to start with and that was the problem.

“Maybe there was a touch of complacency and it took them to score to get us in gear.

“Our squad has settled down now after a lot of ins and outs at the start of the season. Everyone is aware of how we want to play and that is coming together now.”

After a number of spurned Loxwood chances, Town took the lead as Lewis Scally was caught in possession by Divall and he drove forward and fired low into the net.

Loxwood eventually levelled just past the half-hour mark as Joel Colbran set House away and he finished across Sheldon Levett.

Eight minutes before half-time, Beard received a return cross in the box from House and he was there to thrash the ball home.

In the second half, substitute Summerfield prodded home and House rounded Levett to tap home a fourth with the flag staying down. Hailsham got a second from a free-kick as Ross Markham picked out Billy Crittenden to finish, but Beard added a fifth late on.
