Anyon, who takes over from Charlotte Burton after she stepped down in December, will be in charge for the upcoming season.

The 33-year-old former seamer retired from the game just prior to the 2016 season. Anyon assisted Burton with the women's team last season, as well as holding a coaching role with Brighton College.

Over the course of the winter, Anyon continued to assist Burton before her departure. Since then, the former Sussex seamer has lead the winter training programme with assistance from Alexia Walker.

Speaking on his appointment, Anyon said: "I’m looking forward to starting my new role. This is a great opportunity to continue working with Sussex, and hopefully we can build on the past successes that the team have achieved.

“The women’s game is a fast-growing sport and I am looking forward to bringing my own experiences from professional cricket and hopefully using them to help the girls moving forward.

“We have an exciting squad and some talented young players coming through, and we’re hoping to build a team in a successful environment for many seasons to come.”
