A six-vehicle traffic accident has caused major delays this afternoon (Friday February 15) on the M27.

Two lanes were closed and there were long queues of traffic due to accident.

The incident was on the M27 eastbound from junction 8 A3024 (Bursledon/Hamble) to junction 9 A27 Segensworth Link Road (Segensworth/ areham).

At one stage there were delays of around 35 minutes.

All lanes have been re-opened but it will take some time to ease the congestion.

Six-vehicle accident creates major M27 delays
