JoJo Maman Bébé will be opening a new store in the Carfax, in the unit previously home to Blink, on Friday February 12.

The mother and baby boutique, which has more than 70 stores across the UK, will be offering a range of baby and children’s collections along with a maternity section, nursery products, gifts and toys.

It will also come complete with a baby changing room, customer toilet, nursing chair, children’s colouring corner and a maternity section where pregnant customers can browse the maternity range and take advantage of the free maternity bra fitting.

Founder and managing director, Laura Tenison, said: “Our multi-channel retail strategy also helps other independent businesses in the area, even if they are of a competitive nature.

“Just before opening, we will email customers within a 30 mile radius and incentivise them to visit the town and our store.

“They are likely to spend time with neighbouring retailers and cafés as well as our new store, so it’s a win-win situation for all of us.”

To celebrate the opening the store will be hosting a weekend of deals.

Customers who make a purchase over the opening weekend will get to ‘Pick-a-prize’ from a lucky dip basket.

The prizes will include a chance to win 10, 20 or 50 per cent off your shop.

The company was first launched 23 years ago as a tiny kitchen-table business with the stock held in a shed belonging to Mrs Tenison’s parents.
