Garton grabs four wickets for England Lions

Sussex starlet George Garton grabbed four wickets as England Lions wrapped up their tri-series success with a 140-run victory over Sri Lanka A at Canterbury.

The 19-year-old left-arm seamer was named in the squad after bursting onto the scene for Sussex this season.

As well as featuring for Horsham in the Sussex League, Garton has played three games in the Championship this season along with five appearances in limited overs cricket.

And he also starred on the national stage for the Lions playing in three of their four matches in the series.

His best figures came in the final game as with the series already wrapped up, the Lions sent records tumbling against Sri Lanka.

Ben Duckett (220*) and Daniel Bell-Drummond (171) smashed their way into the record books with the second-highest List A partnership of 367.

Garton came back into the side following Sunday’s victory over Pakistan A and dismissed both for the Sri Lakan openers as he finished with 4-43.

Garton claimed 1-56 in the first match against Pakistan and 0-27 against Sri Lanka.
