Police are hunting for two men after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted.

Police said the incident took place near Halsford Lane, in East Grinstead, in the early hours of Wednesday morning (March 15).

The girl had walked to a petrol station in London Road just after midnight. As she was walking down an alleyway from Imberhorne Lane to Halsford Lane she told police she was attacked by two men.

Detective Sergeant Lindsay Russell said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have information that could help with this investigation.

“We have increased patrols in the area and have already conducted a number of house to house enquiries.”
