Dogs were abandoned and starving
Mike Barnard, a council dog warden, was called to Latimer Road in West Worthing to collect a stray dog on Friday. The dog, a severely malnourished Rottweiler, was cold, wet and very hungry with no ID tag or chip. Due to its condition it was taken to a vet for examination. The same vet had also taken in another dog, a black Labrador, who was found earlier that morning in Wallace Avenue. He was also very underweight. It was apparent both dogs knew each other.
The vet confirmed the Rottweiler weighed just two thirds of his ideal weight and the Labrador about three quarters.

All owners need to do is call us or a local rescue centre and they can be found new homes. If anyone can help identify the owners we would be grateful to hear from you. All contacts will be treated in confidence.”
