WALK: Aug 12: All welcome, just turn-up at car park at Southwater Country Park (off Cripplegate Lane) at 11am. Easy flat circular, guided, free sociable HDC Walk along bridleways, lanes and the Downs Link. Café open in the Park at the end. 2½ miles, 1 hour. Pat 01403 240654.


HORSHAM and District Horticultural Society will be holding their Summer Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Show at North Heath Hall, St Mark’s Lane, Horsham, Aug 13. Refreshments, grand raffle, plant sale. WALK: Aug 13: All welcome, Warnham, 4 miles circular sociable HDC Health Walk, some hills and stiles, through woods and farmland, past Warnham Manor and across the deer park. Free, just turn-up at the Village Hall car park in Hollands Way at 10am. 1¾ hours. Liz 01403 263920.


WALK: Aug 15: All welcome, meet in lay-by 200 yards south of the Bull Inn on A281, Mockbridge, Shermanbury at 10am. Circular, guided, free sociable HDC walk, mostly flat, over farmland along River Adur to Twineham, lunch at Royal Oak pub, Wineham. Free (except lunch). Please bring shoes but no dogs, 8 miles, 4 hours plus lunch time. Geoff 01403 258180.


WALK: Aug 16: All welcome, just turn-up at Steyning Health Centre, Tanyard Lane, at 11am. Various, mostly flat circular, guided, free sociable HDC Walks around the outskirts of Steyning. 2 miles, 1¼ hours. Keith 01903 813381.


WALK: Aug 17: All welcome, free, just turn-up at 10am at The Orchard Restaurant car park, West Grinstead, (on A272 between A24 & A281). Various flat (some stiles) circular HDC Health walks of 4 to 5 miles north or south along the Downs Link then through farmland and woods. No dogs. 1½ to 2 hours. Michael V 07719 467861.

WALK: Aug 17: All welcome, sociable HDC Health Walk, 6 to 7 miles at pace, over difficult terrain, for the more experienced walker. No dogs. Free, just turn-up at the Pulborough High Street car park at 7pm. Geoffrey 01903 744881.

Flat (some stiles) circular sociable HDC health Walk on the Sussex/Surrey border. Superb views of Leith Hill Tower and the North Downs. No dogs. 5 miles. 2½ hours.
