Tough drama, children’s fantasy fun, comedy, ground-breaking movies - the Horsham Capitol film section has it all during the rest of August.

It’s still the school holidays so The Nut Job and Planes 2: Fire and Rescue will keep younger audiences entertained.

The Nut Job is an animated film about an exiled squirrel keen to get back in favour by raiding a nut store - however, the shop is a front for a human gang planning a robbery.

Planes 2 sees Dusty, the hero of the first film, discovering he has a faulty engine which could rule him out of racing. So he joins the fire and rescue aircraft and gets involved with a massive wildfire.

Hector and the Search for Happiness is Simon Pegg’s latest movie, a romantic comedy.

Pegg plays a psychiatrist who goes on a trip round the world to discover how to be happy.

Blood Ties is a US crime drama starring Clive Owen and Billy Crudup as brothers, one of whom is a police officer and the other a career criminal.

Boyhood is a remarkable and ground-breaking movie that was filmed over 12 years, showing family life and children grow into young adults - a film that has wowed critics and audiences alike.

The Inbetweeners 2 is the follow up to the incredibly successful first film that proved a massive hit for the box office. The TV series had a large cult following and the films have built on that success.

Lilting is a fascinating exploration of what it’s like to live in a country but not understand the language.

Renowned actor Pei-pei Cheng plays a mother mourning the loss of her son. Her life becomes more complicated when a stranger (played by Ben Whishaw) who doesn’t speak her language arrives.

This film, which is proving popular with critics, has a limited cinema release, so it’s a bit of a coup for the Capitol to be showing it.

If you’re a fan of Dr Who and want to watch the first episode of the new series, with the latest Dr (Peter Capaldi) on a big screen, the Capitol is showing it on August 23. Join fellow fans for an exciting start to the new season.
