Tchaikovsky’s classic will be sure to enchant audiences.

Composed between 1875 and 1876, Swan Lake remains one of the most well-known and loved ballets of all time.

It was first performed at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre in 1877 as The Lake of Swans and tells the story of Odette, a young princess who is turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer and can only be saved by her prince’s everlasting love and eternal devotion, overcoming the forces conspiring to deceive and separate them.

Today Swan Lake continues to capture the imagination of its audience and inspire both young and old with its beautiful love story.

The world famous Russian State Ballet and Opera Theatre of Komi has delighted audiences since 1958. They are renowned for their ballet and operatic masterpieces.

The Russian State Ballet and Opera House have ensured that this classic ballet remains just as spellbinding as it was when it was composed over 130 years ago.

Alexej Ignatow, the producer for Amande Concerts, comments: “We take pride in introducing new ballet companies and thoroughly enjoy bringing them to perform to audiences across the UK.

“This will remain a big part of our strategy for years to come, setting us apart from others. When you see the Russian State Ballet and Opera House logo, you can be sure of the quality of our productions. We endeavor to bring different artists every year. This means that although you may have seen Swan Lake one year, our performance the following year will contain different sets, costumes and choreography. It will feel like a different show altogether.”

The show, featuring 45 dancers, will entertain adult and child story-lovers alike with its vibrant portrayal of this classic tale.
