Act One Beginners Drama School brings Our House to Chequer Mead Theatre, East Grinstead on Thursday, February 20 at 7.30pm and Friday and Saturday, February 21 and 22 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Spokeswoman Beverly Hewitt said: “Packed full of iconic songs by Madness, Our House is a fast-paced, hilarious and touching story, with the principal roles being played by students who have won places to begin full-time training in September at a number of the UK’s leading performing arts colleges. Expect high-energy, vibrant and exciting performances throughout. It would be Madness to miss it!”

Beverly added: “We are a local drama school (we hold classes in Copthorne and Felbridge) and we have been in rehearsal for just six weeks.

“This is a brilliant show. It won an Olivier Award, and it’s jam packed with songs by Madness. We have 43 teenagers in the cast, with the lead character, Joe Casey, being played by Jack Marshall. Jack is 17. He has been at Act One Beginners for eight years and has been given places at leading performing arts colleges next year to continue his training to becoming a professional performer. He is also head boy of Act One Beginners.

“Our leading lady, Kristina Hewitt, is also 17. She has been at Act One Beginners for over ten years and has also been awarded places to continue her training. They are both supported by a fantastic supporting and ensemble cast.”

Tickets are £14 (concessions £11) on 01342 302000.
