Local professional recorder player and flautist Annabel Knight will be performing with her harpsichordist husband, Robin Bigwood, in a special fundraising concert for young musicians this weekend.
On Sunday evening, August 5, Annabel and Robin will be joined by internationally acclaimed virtuosi Dan Laurin (recorder) and Anna Paradiso (harpsichord) at Okewood Hill Village Hall (just off the A29 between Horsham and Dorking) at 7.30pm. Entitled ‘The Age of Opulence’ the event will be part of a weekend of recorder masterclasses and will feature beautiful baroque music for recorders, baroque flute and two harpsichords by Couperin, Rameau, JS Bach, Hotteterre, Cheron and Dornel. Proceeds from the concert will go to the Woodhouse Recorder Week Scholarships Fund, to enable outstanding young musicians to come to the next Woodhouse Recorder Week, to be held at Christ’s Hospital in 2013.
Tickets are available at the door and cost £10 for adults and £5 for under 18s.
